Reminder – preparation for the group work

Dear all,

I hope that all of you will enjoy some days off in lovely weather during Easter. When you come back to office don’t forget to read the report from ESDIN WP 8; Metadata and Quality guidelines. I also hope that all of you are looking forward to some interesting discussions at Q-KEN plenary meeting in Warsaw.

Best regards
Christina

Groupwork at plenary in Warsaw

Dear all,
Now it's time to start preparing yourself for the very interesting group work at our plenary meeting in Poland. The topic this time is "ESDIN". The success of ESDIN is depending on how the organisations will adopt the result. Therefore we will discuss how the result from ESDIN will be implemented in member organisations. What do you need to facilitate implementation of the Q-model? Webinar? Guidelines? Any plans? Other issues?

The group work will help us to see what EuroGeographics and Q-KEN will have to focus on to help members to implement ESDIN.

Quality in GEOSS

Dear Quality KEN members,

I recently visited a kick start of the GeoViQua project which is funded from GMES(FP7) a 4 million project for quality visualisation. Some interesting presentations were made during this WS.

Have a look

For example Jo Lumsden from Aston University  talked about the role of trust, interesting presentation.

INSPIRE Data Specifications (Annex II/III) - Quality and Metadata elements

Dear Members,

As a member of the INSPIRE Thematic Working Group on Elevation, I feel it could be interesting and fruitful to add a new forum topic to discuss about aspects regarding data quality and metadata related to INSPIRE Data Specifications of Annexes II and III of the Directive.

The main objective is to obtain feedback about TWG's proposals from a wider audience of experts with experience in this subjects, which will be for sure very helpful for the TWGs.

Best regards,

Jordi.

ISO 19158

Dear All,

During last week's plenary session Antti gave a good overview of ISO19158 Geographic Information - Quality Assurance of Data Supply.

The standard is currently at commenting stage, deadline for comments is 11th November 2010. Q-KEN members interested in reviewing and contributing comments are to email Antti for a copy of the draft standard. Deadline for providing comments to Antti is 9th November 2010 since he will require some time to collate all the comments.

Remember comments sent in later will run the risk of not being included and ignored.

ISO 19157

Dear Q-Ken members,

Here are comments from EuroGeographics to ISO 19157 CD.

Thank you Arvids, Ourania and Vilma who provided me comments on ISO 19157. I have included those and provided some of mine as well. You may use these in your national comments as well but remember that the deadline is 16th Oct.

Best regards
