Sharing knowledge and experiences: How? Where?

If you have been involved the creation or configuration of software for ESDIN you will probably have found out that is not all routine work. ESDIN is making use of concepts that are not (yet) widely adopted in available software. Some of the issues that might run in to are:

1.Using GML 3.2.1
2.Using the proper axis orientation for ETRS89 coordinates (its latitude, longitude)
3.Handling complex features
4.How to interpret the INSPIRE standards
5.How and where to transform data

Bridging theory and practice – a new business model for maximising the use of public sector geospatial reference data

Workshop 7th September, 2010 from 11:00 to 16:00, Brussels, EuroGeographics Head Office, 76 Rue du Nord, 1000 Brussels, Belgium

Intended audience: National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies, ESDIN reference group members

ESDIN requires a number of harmonization efforts on many levels; integration of services, a unified data specification, and also harmonization of access methods, licensing and pricing. The overall aim is to maximise use of the reference data in Europe, for public and private users alike.
