some experiences from the field

I have recently spent some time on setting up Download Services for ESDIN. I have documented those efforts in the ESDIN wiki. A description of how a service for the National Geographic Institute of Belgium was set up can be found here: Documentation of the Download Service for the NGI/IGN of Belgium.

A description of how a Download Service for the GN theme, based on EuroGeoNames data, was set up can be found here:

Sharing experiences with setting up Download Services.

I wonder if this forum is a good place of sharing overviews of experiences with setting up Download Services. Would it be an idea to have a single thread for that purpose? People with experiences in this area could post their individual summaries and could ask questions. A prerequisite would be that all messages can be edited later by the original poster.

First WP 11 Deliverable

The first ESDIN WP 11 deliverable D11.1 'Best Practices for content Transformations Enabling INSPIRE-Compliant Data Delivery' has been now published on the EuroGeoForum. The deliverable will be reviewed by the Commission on 23rd of October, 2009 and may thus still change as a result of the reviewers' comments. However, the document can be regarded as close to final. As the delivery date for this report is relatively early in the project lifetime, its findings should be taken as preliminary.

Welcome!
